Word from the Changemaker
In the ocean's depths, where few can see,
Lives a creature that's ancient, wise, and free.
The sea turtle, with shell and flippers strong,
Has roamed the seas for eons long.
But now its home is under threat,
As climate change puts it in debt.
The rising seas and warming tide,
Put turtle nests and habitats aside.
The beaches where they lay their eggs,
Are now submerged, like soggy dregs.
The sand too hot, the waves too high,
Their survival rate, too low to vie.
The turtles swim in search of food,
But plastic waste in the water, rude.
It clogs their bellies, harms their health,
It's now a struggle for their wealth.
The climate's changing, that we know,
And turtles pay the highest toll.
We must protect, we must conserve,
For their survival, we must deserve.
Let's reduce emissions, clean the seas,
So turtles thrive, as they please.
For they are symbols of a world at peace,
And we must protect, to make it cease.
